Q: Can I install multiple copies of Windows with Boot Camp?

I have a 32-bit Windows 10 Home installed with Boot Camp. The MacBook has a 64-bit processor, so can I install a 64-bit Windows 10 in addition to the first Win 10 and then select which copy that I want to boot?

Late 2006 MacBook with OS X 10.7.5 (Lion).

A:

No. You cannot use Bootcamp for two installations of Windows, but you can install W10 64-bit as a Virtual Machine.

Thank you. I have VirtualBox VM running a 32-bit Windows 7. This VM seems reluctant to support 64-bit Windows. I'll keep trying to find a workable combination. Maybe I'll try a 64-bit Linux Mint under VirtualBox just to test the 64-bit aspect of the MacBook.

From Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support, the 2006 MacBooks support...

you will run into driver issues with 64-bit OSes.

Thank you again. 64-bit Windows 7 is now running under Oracle VirtualBox VM with OS X 10.7.5 as Host. The ScanDisk 1TB SSD is providing sufficient storage for this project. The Apple MacBook hardware and software is proving to be quite versatile. The Boot Camp Support Software reference is great.

Please ensure you have good back ups of OSX and Windows and Windows VM.
