Q: Apple ID Billing

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone would know the answer to this;

Can I go and buy an iTunes card from a store and charge it onto my account to make up for the imbalance?

Or,

Do I need to have money on the card linked to the account to download/update apps once again?
