My Ipod skips on songs

If you use the setting, on the iPod's Summary settings screen in iTunes, to Convert higher bit rate songs to [128 kbps] AAC, uncheck it and Apply. See if that makes a difference. If that setting is currently unchecked, don't change it.

Otherwise, it must still be related to the song files in some way (since you said it's always the same songs that skip, not random songs). Did these songs previously play fine on the iPod, and do not now for some reason? Or is this the first time you are trying to play them on the iPod?

Do the songs that skip have anything in common? For example, if you show them on a list in iTunes, what do they say for Kind? Are they the same audio format, like WAV or MP3 or AAC?

Are any of them purchased songs from the iTunes Store? Or imported from music CD?

All songs or some songs? If some songs, does it always skip on the same songs, or random songs?

First, do a Reset (restart) on the iPod

If that does resolve the skipping problem, you may want to do a Restore on the iPod using iTunes. This erases the iPod, reinstalls its software, and sets it to default settings.

iPod's (normally) can play formats that are not AAC (like MP3). However, you may have had song files that are less common and reliable, such as WAV or an unusual encoding of MP3, that iTunes (on your computer) and your iPhone can handle, but the iPod could not. For those cases, converting them to be AAC made them compatible with your iPod. So that was a good move. But going forward, you don't have to convert every song in your iTunes library to be AAC. You can if desired, but MP3 normally plays fine on iPods. 🙂

You did a Restore, to erase the iPod and reload it, correct?

Do these songs (that skip on the iPod) still play without skipping in iTunes on your computer?
