Mar 21, 2016 6:28 AM in response to TXfam6by Demo,Apple Music is a streaming service so unless you are connected to the Internet, you can not use it to stream songs. You can download the songs for off-line use and keep them on your device as long as you maintain your paid subscription.
If you give up the subscription, you will have to purchase the songs if you want to keep them.

Mar 21, 2016 6:33 AM in response to Demoby TXfam6,that I understand but being on a Navy Carrier there is no way for me to have any connection to network. So there is no way my phone will know I am still a paid subscriber, which means my music will disappear every time my phone turns off correct?

Mar 21, 2016 6:41 AM in response to TXfam6by Demo,I Understand what you are saying, but according to the link I posted, you can download for off - line listening. Copied from the link above....
Download songs, albums, and playlists to listen to offline
You can download songs, albums, or playlists to your device so that you can listen to them when you're not connected to the Internet.* You must download songs, albums, or playlists on each device that you want to use for offline listening.
*You can download music on up to 10 devices. These songs are accessible only during your Apple Music membership.
I Made the type bold for emphasis.

Mar 21, 2016 6:42 AM in response to TXfam6by KiltedTim,If you subscribe to Apple Music, I'm sure it has to 'check in' on a regular basis to make sure you're authorized. At some point, it will probably decide you're not licensed for it if it can't reach the server. If you don't use Apple Music and just sync the music to your phone from iTunes on your computer, you shouldn't have any problems... I've honestly never forcibly re-booted my phone while it was in Airplane mode, though.

Mar 21, 2016 6:47 AM in response to Demoby TXfam6,that's what I did and they played offline while in airplane mode for about 10 days. I had to reset my phone, when that happen it logged me out of my account, and now I have 1.5 gigs of the 30 I had on my phone. I am hoping that when I get back on my wifi I can log back into my account and get my music from the cloud, but without that I cant get my music back correct?

Mar 21, 2016 6:52 AM in response to KiltedTimby TXfam6,Thank you, I never had to reboot my phone, but yesterday during a workout my music just started randomly skipping so the first thing I thought of was to turn off phone and turn back on and bam when I checked all my music was gone.

You will have to be connected via wi-fi (or maybe a data plan though that might be expensive).
