Q: sound in works, sound out not (for TV)
Hi all,
I have a mac pro 1.1 under lion (stone-age, but still running fast and smoothly by means of upgrading
memory, etc.). A few years ago I deciced to put my tv aside and watch television on my mac.
To make a long story short: the decoder of the tv-provider has te usual output possibilities, RCA,
digital in and out, scart, USB, HDMI. I use de RCA out (black and red) and this goes to a 3,5 jacket
input on the mac. Then I turn on television. Image ok, but no soun through my external louspeakers
(a set of basic speakers). When I check the inputchannel I can see the signal is actually coming in
because of the movements of the indicator. Same results with digital in and out.
Strange thing is, I`ve also Parallels installed with windows 7, and on that platform it is
working perfectly. It`s more a workaround then a solution though.
Music, systemsounds, no problem (nor lion nor windows) but there must be something
I seem to forget or cannot find on the mac level.
Anyone with an eureka mind ;-)
Thanks,
Erwin
