Q: MacBook Pro 2009 Doesn't Come Back From Sleep
Hello Mac Experts,
I have a MacBook Pro mid-2009 with 2 SSDs running El Capitan. When I try to bring the Mac back from sleep, the screen remains black and I am forced to restart the system. No matter which keys I press, the Mac does not respond. I know this question has been asked here many times before, but none of the solutions seem to apply to my particular case. I have done some testing and this is what I found:
- This behaviour does not happen if the Mac is set to sleep manually
- This behaviour does not happen if the Mac is put to sleep by closing the lid.
- This behaviour only happens when the Mac sleeps due to inactivity
I have tried the following:
- Reset P-RAM
- Reset SMC
- Reset NV-RAM
- Disk Repair
- Complete and clean installation of the System
Additionally, I inspected the console for errors and this is what I found:
21/03/16 18:27:31,401 powerd[50]: com.apple.message.domain: com.apple.sleepwake.failure
com.apple.message.signature3: Wake

I should probably also add that while replacing the Superdrive with the second SSD, the iSight cable was damaged and had to be replaced. Since then, both Bluetooth and the iSight camera are both not working. They are not listed under the USB Bus in System Information. I don't know if this is related to the sleep issue, but I guess its worth mentioning. Everything else is working fine. Can anyone make any sense of the error messages above? It seems to me like its a WiFi problem, but I am not really sure. I appreciate any help.
Thanks
MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)
