Mar 21, 2016 3:44 PM in response to vvenincasaby JaFo04,i just connected my iPad with my computer and opened iTunes. before synchronizing itunes asked me to activate my ipad. after logging in it worked out well and everything was fixed.

Mar 21, 2016 5:57 PM in response to vvenincasaby trafsta1,iPad 2 64GB white w/ cellular... I get the "your iPad could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable" also. Been like this for 6 or 7 hours now.
Using iTunes has not helped, I get a message stating "iTunes was unable to verify your device." and to "Please disconnect and reconnect your device"... lovely... it also says "If the error persists, please visit your nearest Apple Store for assistance."... yeah, well, no stores within an hour or two of me.. Any ideas anyone?

Mar 22, 2016 1:03 AM in response to trafsta1by Beano70,It finally worked for me this morning (wifi activation) - after 60+ attempts and 6+ hours. Still can't connect to it via USB, but at least the iPad is usable again.

Mar 22, 2016 2:44 AM in response to Beano70by trafsta1,Lucky you Beano70 I still cannot get mine to activate lol... have it next to me at work this morning and am trying every few minutes.... its a work device so not having it is going to suck today... will keep trying every 5 minutes in hope that it finally activates!

I have to congratulate Apple for their brilliant idea of providing its customers with an upgrade which makes the customers' iPads unusable. I must rush out and buy a new one.

Mar 25, 2016 9:39 AM in response to vvenincasaby elcpu,Apple pulled the iOS 9.3 update for older devices (iPad Airs and previous, iPhone 5s and previous) due to problems with Activation. See these articles for details and possible workarounds.

A new build for the iPad 2 is now available that does not require the Activation step. Suggest trying now, it should work, I hope....
