Q: Which is the faster way to export?

To make things short, I got an 86 minute-long video in 1440p that I need to export in H.264 in an MP4 container for YouTube and if I send the project to Compressor from FCPX, it completes about a quarter of the process every 10 hours, literally. Would it be faster to export the project in ProRes 422(HQ) and then use that file in Compressor rather than just sending it to Compressor from FCPX?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), i7-3615QM, 16GB RAM, GT 650M

Offhand, I don't see why you would get such astonishing encoding times in Compressor. If you're like to post a screen shot of your settings from the Inspector Video pane, we might be able to spot something.  If you want to upload an MP4, you could always Share > Master File and set Format to Computer. Then use the YT uploader. In other words, work within FCP and leave Compressor out of the workflow. BTW, unless your footage is from a very high end camera, I very much doubt that using Pro Res HQ will be beneficial.
