Night Shift is available on iPhone 5s or later, iPad Pro, iPad Air or later, iPad mini 2 or later, and iPod touch (6th generation).

So not on an iPad 2.
Only Apple knows whether it will be added to the iPad 2 or not at a later date.
Well its a little bit dissapointing but thank youu 🙂
Thanks for the info. Night shift was the first new feature I was going to disable.
Nightshift comes disabled by default. One has to enable it for it to work.
Thanks for the info. Fortunately for me my iPad doesn't have night shift. My old eyes like a bright white screen. 🙂
Agreed Bob...I have it on my iPhone 5s (only that for now, my iPads always get updated later on) and I feel that the muddiness/orangeness of the Night Shift enabled screen seems to reduces it's overall clarity. I'll have to try it to see if it does anything worthwhile for me when nighttime rolls around.

I tried f.lux on my MBA. I found that any possible benefit from decreasing blue light was more than outweighed the irritation caused by the muddiness.
I wonder how good the science is on this?
Aloha Serg and Meg.
Back in my back we didn't need no night shift. We had to pull up the Control Center and dim the screen ourselves. These youngin's designing these computering machines what do they know ? 🙂
Well we survived another update. Stay well all. Bob.

It's apparently the color as well as the brightness. But, if you're chronically sleep deprived, as I am, falling asleep is usually not a problem.
So far, this update doesn't seem to have caused too much trouble. (fingers crossed).
