iCloud Photo library nested albums.

I suspect I'm seeing the same as everyone else, but thought I'd check.

I see no nested albums in the new iCloud photo library feature. They aren't just listed without their enclosing folder but they aren't there at all.

Thanks for posting the latest, I haven't updated to tvOS11 yet but I'm nervous about enabling iCloud Photo Library on the ATV4 again because not only did it not support folders and nested albums but for every album i did have at any level it created a blank container album at the root level which I then had to manually delete from my Photos app.

I'll still go for it but will be taking extra local backups first.

When using TV OS 9.1.1, I could see nested albums and the photos in the albums using the Computers app on my ATV 4 (at least when photo sharing was turned on in iTunes). Photos were organized in the same manner as in albums in the Mac Photos app and in iCloud. Using the Photos app in TV OS 9.1.1 showed only streamed photos. When TV OS 9.2 arrived today, I updated and was glad to see an option for seeing albums in the Photos app but was immediately dismayed to discover that I had lost the ability to see nested folders or their contents. Furthermore, the Computers app now shows all photos but not with the previous organization that provided the full depth of folder organization seen in the Mac Photos app and not with photo sorted as I had done in the Mac OS Photos app. The poor implementation of nested photos in 9.2 is a big step backward. If anyone knows how to overcome this new problem, I would appreciate seeing how to do it right.

Well, I'm happy to report that the Computers app still gives me access to sorted albums in nested folders. It appears that it just took the Apple TV a while to repopulate the photos in those albums. Still have to say that it is disappointing to see the Photos app still does not show pictures in nested folders. Still, I am glad that the update is NOT a big step backward, just not as big a step forward as would be desired.

NNot a very satisfying update don't think they bother about feedback! I was hoping I could use my 11k i cloud photos in a slideshow nut you can't still only see the option for slideshow under shared .dont see the point of showing I cloud photos when I can't do much with them , I can see when they were taken and date but apart from that it's pretty lame

Precisely. At least on iOS and on Mac OS, the Photos view (not the All Photos default album; confusing, I know) allows a manageable approach to an the full stream of photos. You can zoom out, by collections and years, so there's some chance of navigation.

The All Photos album is pretty much useless everywhere (with the exception, as you mentioned, on having the pictures ordered by add date, which comes in handy at times), but on the TV, since you can't do anything with the photos except look at them, it's particularly idiotic.

I really don't know why they bothered adding iCloud Photo Library at this state...

Hello,

Same problem with me and my Apple TV 4

However, I have many directories that appear by default (DropBox, Instagram, Scannable) but they are empty (because I have no data in these directories).

This bug is very annoying because it does not allow us to enjoy our photos on the big screen!

Questions

- Do not you think we should wait (a long time I think) that the data from these directories are downloaded so that they can view or is it really a bug?

- Someone did this test?

Yours, Apple employee who reads this message, thank you for bringing us a response (such as a fix in the next update tvOS) 🙂

Thanks.
