Q: Missing photos
My husband wanted to clear some photos off his phone, so he imported them to Photo on our Mac, then deleted what he had on his phone. His iCloud storage was full, and for some reason all of the photos that were not in iCloud deleted off the Mac when he deleted them off his phone. Why did this happen if he imported them to the Mac, and more importantly how do we recover them? I have never had an issue with importing my photos, so I'm not sure why his disappeared. He lost videos and pictures, and was only able to recover the ones in the cloud. Nothing is showing up in the temp folders or in "recently deleted" on either the phone or the laptop.

When you enable iCloud Photo Library on your Mac and your iDevices, whatever you do on one device (edit, delete, etc) is synchronized with all other devices and iCloud. That's kind of the whole point of iCloud Photo Library.
Restore missing items from your manual or Time Machine backups.
