Q: Ipad 2 wont activate after update?

Ipad 2 wont activate after doing the update this morning it says '' Could not activate ipad, your ipad could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your ipad to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a few minutes. If this problem persists, contact Apple support at Apple.com/uk/support.

I've tried connecting my ipad to iTunes and i get the same message i've also restored the ipad and still betting the same message! Started to get a little frustrated now. Any help would be great.

Ok so I have spoke to apple and my ipad is back up and running! He asked me if I have done a restore I told him that I had, he told me to go to icould.com and sign in then go to find my iphone/pad and to remove my ipad  from there, then told me to open Itunes up and plug olin the ipad and restore it. Did the full restore and it worked once back on the ipad just to add it back to find my iphone/pad!

Let me know if it works for anyone eles.

Fixed it but had to figure it out myself as the Apple "Geniuses" had to no idea what do and were going to leave me with a brick. The Grand Central Store in NYC is an embarrassment. They basically threw their hands up in the air and said it was a hardware issue with my ipad and too bad as I was out of warranty, notwithstanding the legion of users having the same issue. In any event, its important to not just delete your ipad from icloud (as it will return when on connected to internet) but to go to my devices and actually remove it. Once I did this it would restore.

I believe so. hard to tell from that picture. Let me know if it works. By the time I figured it out I had already attempted to restore my Ipad so data was wiped out (but until I did this wouldn't let me restore to device). Don't know if this would have worked without restore. I presume so.

Hardware issue! Funny how we all seem to be having the same issue at the same time after updating. Absolutely ridiculous that they would say too bad because your out of warranty, my ipad is out of warranty if they would of said that to me I would of gone mad, because the ipad was fine before I did the update! So that makes it there problem, glad you fixed yourself  and got it back to working.

I was honestly planning on suing in small claims court. If you say don't use the upgrade on older models, that's fine but to tell people to upgrade and then say sorry your ipad couldn't handle it, is just wrong.

    This is a known problem.

Apple has acknowledge the issue with activation server difficulties with certain iPad models and have stated that they are working on this issue and that it will be resolved as soon as possible.

I did get it to work again, but had to spend about an hour on the phone with Apple to work through it.  And I had to restore it to factory settings, as I had not backed it up .  I would not recommend this route if you have other options.
