Mar 22, 2016 7:07 AM in response to maezamby OGELTHORPE,By deleting it. Mac has its own AV protection built in so no third party AV applications are needed. All they will do is slow down your MBP and possibly corrupt it.
Ciao.

Mar 22, 2016 7:16 AM in response to maezamby Allan Eckert,Maybe if you told us which AV software you are running, we might be able to give you more specific instructions.
Either that or download and install EtreCheck from http://etrecheck.com/
Run it and post the report here. Then we can see which of the AV scams you loaded.

Mar 22, 2016 7:16 AM in response to maezamby OGELTHORPE,What is the AV that is running?
Have you tried to force quit it? (OPTION + COMMAND + ESC)
Open Activity Monitor and see if it listed there.
Ciao.

Mar 22, 2016 7:52 AM in response to maezamby BobTheFisherman,Are you talking about Gatekeeper. If so then go to system preferences and set gatekeeper to allow installation of all apps from anywhere. After installing yor app then reset the gatekeepr to a more secure setting. Here is a more complete explanation: OS X: About Gatekeeper - Apple Support

I found this on the Kaspersky web sit. https://support.kaspersky.com/4801
You do not need a virus program on your Mac, it will just cause issues.
See the following post by Linc Davis where he explains why not to use AntiVirus programs on Mac. Re: antivirus
