Glad that SSD storage is now in the new Apple TV, Would be great to have a USB3 or Thunderbolt connector to add an external storage. If you have a lot of movies, would be a good place to store them on the drive.
The storage on the new ATV is not for personal media Rather it's used for apps/games you download from the App Store. Only the first gen ATV allowed the connection of an external storage device. This is where homesharing comes into play. i have a large iTunes library that (6tb) we access on any of the 3 ATVs in our home.
