Q: Using iOS device (not limited to iPod) with USB Endoscope
I have not found a clear answer to this. This is an example of what the camera is: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016KUGVJC?keywords=usb%20endoscope&m=A9T9RNP4I QGT7&qid=1458659585&ref_=sr_rp_1&sr=sr-1
I 'chatted' with tech support yesterday and they told me it should work with a lightning to usb adapter. I have ordered one and will have it later this week.
I have tested the camera with Android devices and it works fine. What is required is an adapter from USB to mini-USB and an app from the app store (Basic USB Camera works fine). Per my understanding, the app basically tells the device that there is a camera there, and sets up the display, as well as record functions (not that big of a deal at this point, but it is nice to have).
I have an iPod Touch, which per my understanding is in the iPhone 5/6 family. It is running the 9.3 OS (updated yesterday). I have searched the app store, but have not found anything related to what I am trying to do. I am looking for an app to stream video from the USB camera, not copy photos or anything else. Does anyone know of such an app?
Does iOS support this natively?
Is this something an iPad or iPhone is more suited for, and that is why I cannot find it?
The few things I have found say that the best way to do this is wirelessly, which seems unnecessarily complicated. The camera works fine under Android / Windows / Mac OS. iOS is the only one that seems to be troubling.
iOS Devices, iOS 9.3
