Problem updating to 12.3.3.17

Hi,

Just downloaded " iTunes 12.3.3 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) " to update my current iTunes 12.3.2.35 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) on Windows 7 sp1 64-bit. The update process failed with a message " A later version of Apple Software Update is already installed on this computer".

Apple Software Update installed on my PC is 2.1.4.131 27/08/2015.

Regards,

Alex

Try repairing Apple Software Update from the Programs and Features control panel, then uninstall it, then reinstall iTunes.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

The reply will not be of much help, except maybe to others. DONT upgrade to this version, 12.3.3.17, at least if you are on Windows 7. I lost 22,3Giga
of music and all playlists, simply vanished into thin air, and I know how to handle a computer. The only music left was the one bought from Apple. So don't upgrade, Apple is not your friend. Good luck with your problem
