I've had WiFi calling on AT&T for several months, and I really like it. The call quality is better, for one thing. AT&T just added 2 additional features in iOS 9.3; you can now use any device that shares an Apple ID with an iPhone to make and receive WiFi calls using the iPhone's number. It can be over any WiFi network, and the iPhone doesn't even need to be on. Along with this, if you are traveling outside the US you can make and receive WiFi calls to/from US numbers with no international surcharge.
Very interesting info. I haven't heard that Verizon is offering such features yet but I'll have to check.
I've been very happy with the VoLTE call quality. Of course, it requires both parties have it enabled.

Just to add to the VoLTE call quality. Not only do both parties have to have that enabled. But, as of now, they have to be on the same network. Even if two people who are on an iPhone 6s with the "HD voice" enabled on both phones. It won't be in that quality if one is on VZW and the other on AT&T. Besides, both companies, yet again, work on different technology in the back ground for the "HD Voice" feature.
