ipad 2 isn't installing its drivers in win7

My ipad 2 is only loading a black screen with the apple logo so I need to do a factory reset

But when I plug the ipad into the computer windows 7 doesn't recognize/see it and "beep" and install it's drivers so itunes sees the ipad?

i had this also. I was told by apple support to update Itunes, after some diliberation i did so, even though i hate changing things on my laptop.

this made my now bricked 9.3 updated ipad 2 unrecongnisable by my laptop, yes it connected but could not be seen by itunes.

the remedy was to completely uninstall Itunes and all its components,as on this link and then reinstall the latest version

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later - Apple Support

my system now recognises my bricked Ipad 2, where i go from here i don't know, Apple support have ceased contacting me on Twitter.

this has taught me two things today

1) never update straight away even if you see an update working on another device

2) always back up before updating IOS, no matter what.

I have the latest version of itunes and my 5s seems to connect fine (but it's also working fine)

But it seems to be more of an issue with my computer acknowledging the ipad 2 when I plug it in - usually when you plug in any device in a usb port, windows makes a weird beep sound, acknowledging it's existence & then usually installs it's driver automatically.

So I don't think it's an issue with itunes, but the computer itself. I've tried 3 different cables and multiple usb ports and none seem to acknowledge it.

Could it be because the ipad itself is only loading a black screen with apple logo and maybe isn't considered "on" by the computer or something to acknowledge it?
