Stocks App Symbols for Crude Oil and Gold?

In the Stocks app, what symbols are used to show the current and historical pricing of crude oil and gold?

I know I can use the futures contracts symbols (eg: "CLV08.NYM") to get a current price for WTI and Brent, but these only show the price for a specific future contract, and only show historical pricing back a week a so, then they eventually expire and show nothing. I would like a symbol that will show the historical price going back ten years, so that I can fill the chart on the stocks app.

After searching on the internet it seems it used to be possible to do this for gold with the symbol "XAUUSD=X". But this no longer works.

Also, why is it so difficult to find such a symbol? I've searched all over the internet to no avail. Is this not something that many people would want? I'm almost starting to think it's a secret that people in the financial industry keep to themselves. I'm totally baffled!!
