safari wont start

Hello,

I just performed an update on my imac (version 10.9.5). It performed a Security Update 2016-002, Safari Version 9.1

Remote desktop client and itunes. Then restarted my computer.

Everything else seems to be working fine. Except Safari won't start up now. It gives me an error (a problem occured with this webpage so it was reloaded - that happens on any webpage), and says Safari web content quit unexpectedly. Firefox works fine.

What should I do to correct this? I count on using Safari all day long.
