Q: mac mini does not recognize monitor connected via thunderbolt/HDMI cable

I am using a thunderbolt / HDMI cable to connect Mac Mini to monitor. This has worked great with my MacBook Air as a second screen. The monitor is not getting a single from Mac Mini.
