Q: Issue with the email sent directly from the Calendar invite

On my phone iPhone 6s, I configured yahoo email account and office email account.   Office email account is default account.

When sending emails, from the mail application, everything works fine. No mixing of accounts etc. Things work great.

There is only one calendar and is configured to my office account.

Here is the problem I have.  When I need to inform that I am running late for a meeting I do the following

1) Open the Calendar Invite

2) Click on the invitees list

3) On the screen that displays the invitees, I click on top right message ICON

4) That takes me to the screen where an email is addressed to all invites

5) This email does not have setting to change From address - PROBLEM 1

6) When email is sent, it is sent from Yahoo account, even though its no default account - PROBLEM 2

I checked the SMTP settings, only the yahoo account is configured to SMTP and my office email does not have SMTP (not sure what it has).

How to I make the email initiated in my outlook calendar use the default mail box??

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.2.1

Is your office account a work account configured through Microsoft Exchange?

You may want to chat with IT support at work

It may be that they have it configured that no application other than email itself can invoke the send function - hence Calendar is defaulting to the only other option available on your phone

Thanks for your quick response. I will check with our IT support.  I could not see any disabled settings on my iPhone.

BTW,  why is the email invoked from Calendar not showing From address field? (Since there is only one outgoing server?)

You may not see it in the settings

But if you are running some software like Mobile Iron which the IT department uses to enforce some kind of regulation on your device - that is one possibility - for example as long as my device is tethered to my work - I cannot use the touch function to download updates from the App Store -

I think Mail on the phone has a somewhat limited presentation with some settings being controlled from Settings - Mail, Contacts etc

Thanks. Your response much appreciated.  We have Airwatch on the devices- that might be controlling. I will check with work IT support.
