Q: switch off impossible via Finder

I installed El Capitan 10/11/3.

My mac book pro works slowly.

I click on Eteindre in french (switch off) in menu Finder.

The desktop appears without the menu bar at the top and folders icons

I click on the Finder icon in the raw of icons at the bottom of the desktop.

I click on relaunch.

Nothing.

I have to push on the bottom to switch off the computer.

I switch on the computer and try again.

The same thing.

What have I do to do?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

    Hi Ktherine,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I'm sorry to hear that you are having these issues with your Mac after a recent install of El Capitan. If you are having a generalized slowness issue with your Mac (as well as potential shutdown issues), you may want to use Activity Monitor to see if any particular system resources are being overly taxed (CPU, memory, disk space or access, etc). You may find the information and steps outlined in the following article helpful:

Use Activity Monitor on your Mac - Apple Support

    Regards

I think that you may have enabled the option to automatically hide the menu bar.

Move your cursor to the top of the screen, does the menu bar appear? If so, you have the option enabled.

If you want to disable this option,

    1. Open System Preferences
    2. Click on General preference pane
    3. Disable the option to "Automatically hide and show the menu bar".
