Every time I plug my ipod classic into my computer it comes up with a red circle symbol and says to refer to apple.com/support/ipod
It connected the first time I plugged it in and said that I needed to download some software to fix it.. I clicked on it to download and then it disappeared and nothing downloaded. Now my computer won't even register my ipod..
PLEASE HELP!

That often mean the iPod's hard drive has become faulty. Try to start up the iPod in Disk Mode

Then, connect to your computer running iTunes. If iTunes picks it up, it may prompt you to do a Restore with a message about "recovery." If you're OK with erasing the iPod, proceed with the Restore. If the problem is data corruption on the iPod's storage (no hardware problem), the Restore will fix it.
If the iPod does not go into Disk Mode, or the Restore fails, the iPod's hard drive is probably faulty.
