Q: can I lock a Note on El Capitan 10.11.3

When I lock a Note on my iPad or iPhone I see the note on either the iPhone or the iPad - but don't see any ability to lock a Note or unlock a Note on my MacBook Air which is upgraded to 10.11.3

Is this functionality missing or am I not following the right procedure?
