Mar 23, 2016 6:47 AM in response to elecwindy1by KiltedTim,Sounds like you bought a 2nd hand phone and the original owner did not remove their iCloud account from the phone. Only the owner of the account used to lock it can remove the activation lock. It's an anti-theft feature. Contact whoever you bought the phone from. If they can't or won't remove the lock, it's a brick.
If you are the original owner of the phone, and purchased it from an authorized source, take the phone and the original proof of purchase to Apple to have the lock removed.

Mar 23, 2016 6:48 AM in response to elecwindy1by thunderzzz,Did you purchase second hand device or you are the original owner of this phone?
If yes: you need to contact the seller and ask him to remove this iPhone from his list of devices. Otherwise, your iPhone will be a useless brick.

If you are the original owner take your device to the Apple Store with all the documents confirming the ownership of this device.

Mar 23, 2016 7:07 AM in response to KiltedTimby elecwindy1,yes, it's the 2nd iphone. but the thing is i had updated it from ios 5.x to 6.x, 8.x etc using this apple id, and i had never run into this issue, but now to ios 9.3, i got this. Luckily, it was my boss's phone. I think your 2nd suggestion is the best option and hopefully she still keeps all proof of purchase, i still suspect my phone is hacked. Many thanks anyway guys.
