Q: App Store Downloads Very Slow

For about the last week, I've noticed that my iOS App Store downloads have become exceedingly slow when connected to my home wifi. This seems to occur only in the evenings during heavy usage periods, but not at all early in the morning or during the day.  And they work just fine - very fast - when connected to my carriers cellular network.  So, despite 9.3 having just been released, i don't think it's an Apple issue since it works fine via other methods.

Normally, I think this would point so an issue with either my wifi router or my cable modem. However, I don't think that's the case here because if I connect to my home WiFi, then connect to a VPN - download speeds return to normal. So I don't think its either my router or my modem.  I thought it might be DNS related, but I've reset those several times as well.   It

So what do you guys think?  Traffic Shaping from Time Warner?

This is ridiculous.  Apple downloads are not any better on Time Warner and this is absolutely a Time Warner issue.

Austin here. Time Warner 300Mb. Downloading at about 800kb/s from the app store. El Capitan update is taking 2-3 hours to download.

I'm in Colorado and on Comcast cable for my internet. I have been totally unable to download App Store App Updates since June 25, 2016. In posting this on July 2.

As a test, after reading everyone's posts here, rather than hitting "Update All," I chose what seemed likely to be one of the smallest updates from my ever-growing list and tapped just that one. Then, I hit my stopwatch to time How long the download would take. I was surprised when, after a bit, I still hadn't that tiny spot of black pixels that indicates that the download had begun. It has now been minutes with absolutely no progress.

Speedtest.net run from this very iPad, just now, shows that my download speed (using the identical software and hardware that the App Store App is using) is 91 Mbps. That's pretty darned fast. And because one of the posts I read said something about success using a VPN, I installed my VPN software on my iPad and tried to download just one update. FAIL.

The weirdest thing of all is that, using all of the same current setup, I just easily installed all updates to my iPhone. There were only 3 because my iPhone has been regularly updating itself, as always!

It's an iPad-specific thing for me.

    Next Steps for me:

    1. Try to update via Apple USB-to-lightning cable to connect via iTunes on my iMac

    2. Apple support.

i think it has to be apple cos i live in malaysia and its taking 6-8 hours to download an 80MB update from iTunes US. my home wifi ISP runs (is that a right term) 100mpbs fiber optic network and just to test i downloaded a similar size app from google play store and it takes 60-80 seconds max. i have been updating about 10 apps for 2 days now and its still not done.
