Q: Was this update supposed to break Remote Screen Sharing?

I installed this update (About Remote Desktop Admin 3.8 - Apple Support) via the app store and it completely borked my Mac server so no one can log into it via a VNC client. Was this the intended purpose? I've heard of security through lockdown before, but never did I think I would be locked out of remote management of a piece of integral hardware.

Mac Mini Server (Late 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

There are work-arounds reported here.
Mac VNC not working after Security Update 2016-002

Some folks thought the problem was the security update which came out a day later. That's why a different title for the problem. Anyway, see the discussion.
