Closing Windows Stops Things

When I close a window for an ARD connected client, things stop.

For example if iTunes is playing the music will stop. Or if a client is configured to lock the screen after "x" amount of time, it will lock immediately upon closing the windoow.

I've looked for a checkbox to configure such a thing but I'm not finding it.

Any suggestions?
