Q: iPhone 5 cannot log into icloud after ios 9.3 update
I updated to iOS 9.3 today from 8 on my iPhone 5. After words I couldn't activate and couldn't get into cloud. I was able to activate via iTunes but I cannot get cloud to work. I was going to restore my phone but I cannot disable find my iPhone because cloud will not log in. It just sits there thinking for a long time then tells me "Verification failed there was an error connecting to the apple ID server". I know my password is correct because I logged into the Apple Support Communities with it.
Looks like I should of stuck with iOS 8.
I have hard and soft booted my phone many times and have tried connecting it to a mac and a windows 10 machine both with the latest version of iTunes.
I was able to update my iPhone 6+ just fine.

The apple rep on the phone had me restore my phone by putting into DFU mode. This worked and had my phone working properly. The second we applied the backup I did (nothing prior to 9.3 unfortunately) it hosed the phone again. We went at it for over an hour and came to the conclusion that the update corrupted something with icloud and any backup I did (1 iCloud and 1 computer) while on ios9.3 would be faulty because of it.
I am now in the process of pulling all of my data off the phone that I cannot regenerate and will have to start from scratch on this phone.
