gps not working properly after iOS 9.3 update

Hi all.

After updating to iOS 9.3 my GPS cannot find my exact location. It keeps telling me I am in a big area, (Triangulating) seems like it does not activate the GPS.

Sometimes very little it works and give me the correct position, but 97% of the time its not working. Anyone else with the same problem?

Besides that: A hot phone & bad WIFI

Repeatedly. And the store did it for me too. The Find My iPhone was what made it obvious GPS was messed up. It often showed me at a house 1/2 mile away or on a bike trail. I couldn't find my phone one night at midnight (why I was on Find My iPhone). It showed it on the bike trail, which I had walked earlier that evening, so I almost went out in the middle of the night to find it. Fortunately, my husband called it and it was in the house.

Find My iPhone is a fantastic diagnostic because it pulses every time it sends a GPS ping and the relative accuracy of the search. If it isn't pinging and the circle is big, your GPS antenna isn't working.

I have the same issue. After upgrading iphone6 to 9.3.4 last week, the GPS stopping working. It keeps triangulating but cannot provide directions or show where I am, while driving.

Took an appointment with Genius Bar and went there today ( Aug 13th 2016 ). They restored the OS 9.3.4 again and asked me to drive around and test it. Still the problem exists.

Went back to them and asked them to restore my software back to 9.3.1 version which used to work. They refused to do it.

Now they are asking me to pay $299 for a flat repair cost to replace my iPhone 6. Asked them what happens if it fails again after the 90 day warranty window. As usual pay another $299 or buy apple care warranty.

They refused to acknowledge any issue with iPhone 6. Even after me referring to multiple threads on apple support community, they didn't bother to hear me at all :-(

How do me make Apple hear us out and do something for their issue. It definitely seems to be a batch/lot issue with certain iPhones.

Hi guys,

I am experimenting the same issue here in France with my iPhone 6..

Same story .. I went to an apple store .. blablabla.. they want me to pay ... blablabla..

I just bought the pieces and a reparation kit, and I will repare it myself.

i am just sick of Apple. I have a macbook Pro 2011 who didnt work for TWO YEARS until they initiates a reparation program .. Now it's my iPhone 6... APPLE, STOP PUSHING ME TO BUY AN ANDROID PHONE... 😠

I will let you know guys when I am done reparing my iPhone. But right know I am on vacation on Florida \o/.

I've been having the same issue for the past few weeks. Also, I'm having trouble connecting to LTE.

I took my iPhone 6 to Apple twice. The first time, they said it's a problem with the SIM card. I was still having issues so when I went back, they tested my SIM card in one of their tester iPhones and then they tested another SIM card in my iPhone. Finally after they concluded that it is a problem with the hardware itself and not AT&T, they offered a solution of replacing my iPhone 6 with the exact model for $299. Crazy! I'm not even done paying off for the 128GB iPhone under the installment plan! I see that iOS 10 resolved the issue for others but it didn't work for me.

I hope Apple will acknowledge this issue and fix it soon. It is very frustrating to not have GPS while traveling and my iPhone is constantly searching for its location so it's eating up all my data!

Third times a charm. Apple keeps erasing my comments! Good to know they can swiftly come in here when they want to subvert the fact that there is clearly a hardware flaw here. Anyways, I have the same issue. I brought my phone to my carrier and they replaced it for free with another iPhone 6. Guess what? Same issue. I've upgraded to the latest iOS, same issue. I've had the issue since iOS 8.4. I'm exploring iFixit now for a hardware solution.
