Q: gps not working properly after iOS 9.3 update

Hi all.

After updating to iOS 9.3 my GPS cannot find my exact location. It keeps telling me I am in a big area, (Triangulating) seems like it does not activate the GPS.

Sometimes very little it works and give me the correct position, but 97% of the time its not working. Anyone else with the same problem?

Besides that: A hot phone & bad WIFI

This is exactly the issue I am having and Apple told me the same thing, pay to replace it. My phone was 2 months out of warranty. Awesome. Do you have a link to the tutorial that you used to repair it? I'm at the end of my rope, I'll try anything now.

I've been having the same issue for the past few weeks. Also, I'm having trouble connecting to LTE.

I took my iPhone 6 to Apple twice. The first time, they said it's a problem with the SIM card. I was still having issues so when I went back, they tested my SIM card in one of their tester iPhones and then they tested another SIM card in my iPhone. Finally after they concluded that it is a problem with the hardware itself and not AT&T, they offered a solution of replacing my iPhone 6 with the exact model for $299. Crazy! I'm not even done paying off for the 128GB iPhone under the installment plan! I see that iOS 10 resolved the issue for others but it didn't work for me.

I hope Apple will acknowledge this issue and fix it soon. It is very frustrating to not have GPS while traveling and my iPhone is constantly searching for its location so it's eating up all my data!

Apple Inc. monitors and removed my post since i mentioned about iOS __ - but they are not able to fix the issue (ironically this is a shame).

The price tag of iPhone is too **** high, and then the reliability is questionable. Apple Inc - Please escalate this ticket, before this problem becomes a nightmare.

I have the same problem, GPS shows inaccurate location on cellular data and does not track my location while driving (so no way to navigation instructions).

It gives somewhat closer estimate of location while on WiFi. I was using iOS 9.3.4 when this issue started - now upgraded to iOS __ - still the problem exists.

Did anyone find a way to fix this??

Third times a charm. Apple keeps erasing my comments! Good to know they can swiftly come in here when they want to subvert the fact that there is clearly a hardware flaw here. Anyways, I have the same issue. I brought my phone to my carrier and they replaced it for free with another iPhone 6. Guess what? Same issue. I've upgraded to the latest iOS, same issue. I've had the issue since iOS 8.4. I'm exploring iFixit now for a hardware solution.

True, they do swiftly remove our comments - if we mention the iOS __ .

I my case the replacement from apple or carrier is not an option - paid in full while i bought it and the warranty has expired.

Please post on discussion - if you find a way to fix this.

It is a nightmare to drive in NY without a GPS.

I've restored my phone to factory settings and I'm still having this issue. Sometimes the GPS works for a few minutes but then it loses GPS again and I have to wait several hours for it to get it back. This is very annoying and it looks like a firmware issue.

I am having the same problem since updating my software a few weeks ago. Its coming up to 2 years since i have my iphone 6 and never had a problem with it. This seem to be affecting a lot of people and Apple is not doing anything about it.

I have an appointment with the Genius Bar in Westfield Stratford on Thursday 25/08/16 and will update on the result.

Same issues here, been on chat, phone calls, the Service Provider and on the phone again, soft reset, hard reset, factory reset, upgraded to 10.0, calibrated gps, reset network settings...jumped up and down, turned in circles and nothing is working...I am still being told to buy a $299 device from them....but this is not caused by me, it was caused after my 9.3 software install...I was told the software install caused the hardware issues/failures.

I had the same problem. My Apple Maps and Google Maps work fine when I'm connected to wifi. But on cellular data, none of the navigation apps worked. Apple Tech Support and multiple "Geniuses" were stumped. Then I stumbled on this and it worked!:

SETTINGS>PRIVACY>LOCATION SERVICES>make sure Location Services is toggled ON. Then in the middle of this screen: SHARE MY LOCATION>make sure Share My Location is toggled ON. If you found any of these to be toggled OFF then that was your problem (just like me).

Now my Apple Maps and Google Maps work just fine. Hope it works for you too!
