Sim City keeps crashing does this game ruin my iPad?

It's very likely that the game demands more resources than your ipad has. I have an iPad 2 and it has a much lower tolerance for graphic intensive apps than my mini 4 (kinda a no brainer given the difference in processor and ram)

Unfortunately the game may be getting to be too much for your iPad.

You can try to force close any apps you're not using, to free up as many resources as possible for your game. Double click the home button and flick all unnecessary apps off the screen to close them. then single tap on the home page to exit that mode. I also rebooted my iPad and older iPod on a daily basis. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and see if that helps.

You won;'t hut it by playing the game. In fact if you transfer the game to your new device, or perhaps backup your old iPad and use that backup to set up your new one you will probably notice a marked improvement playing the game on your new device. I plsy Smurf's village and noticed how much better it worked when I played it on my new iPod and iPad vs my old ones.
