You can get a nice clean "specialty FREE" look in the threads and Profile Bio pages on your computer browsers with > Adjust the format and layout of ASC Pages-NoBadges - Themes and Skins for Apple - userstyles.org
Get Stylish add-on > excerpted from https://userstyles.org/
The easiest way to use user styles is to use Stylish for Firefox, Stylish for Chrome, Stylish for Safari, or Stylish for Opera. It's all free, by the way.
Thank you for this. I've been using it for a day now, and I love it. As someone uninterested in participating in the gamification (I didn't know that word existed before I saw it used here.) of the ASC, it's nice to not have to see all that gobbledy-gook. *thumbs up*

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamification
Gamification is the application of game-design elements and game principles in non-game contexts.[1][2] Gamification commonly employs game design elements[1][2][3][4] which are used in so called non-game contexts[1][2][5] in attempts to improve user engagement,[6][7] organizational productivity,[8] flow,[9][10] learning,[11][12][13] employee recruitment and evaluation,[14] ease of use and usefulness of systems,[10][15][16] physical exercise,[17] traffic violations,[18] and voter apathy,[19] among others. A review of research on gamification shows that a majority of studies on gamification find positive effects from gamification.[3] However, individual and contextual differences exist.

Apr 5, 2016 9:19 AM in response to pinkstonesby seventy one,Hello Pinkstones,
If you are still unsure about the Avatar, I seem to remember someone saying they had to show it in their formal avatar place... and someone else saying you needed to do that, then immediately change it back if you prefered the original. So I did both, completed the task but I'm still not sure either
As far as Levelling up is concerned It did used to be level 4 but as points became somewhat easier to get, it became Level 6 and has been that for at least six years.
You'll make it, I never thought I would though.

Apr 5, 2016 9:34 AM in response to seventy oneby turingtest2,I'm pretty sure that when I joined level 4 was at 8,000 points and level 5 at 20,000. There was no level 6 or above. The boundaries for each level changed at some point but the target for entry to the lounge stayed the same, as did the points for helpful and solved. (These may have been different in the deeper past.)

Apr 26, 2016 8:49 AM in response to Nasrinpetby Skydiver119,You should start a new thread and give folks some specific details. What password? What are you trying to do?
The more info you can give them will enable them to better help you. And a new thread insures that your question won't get lost back on page 7 of this one.

Level 4 used to be 4,000 points, and that was what you needed to gain access to the Lounge. I don't recall how many points were required for Level 5, but Level 5 was the highest level a member could attain. In November of 2005, Jive came on the scene, and the requirement for Lounge access was increased to Level 6 and 8,000 points. Members who had attained Level 4 or 5 in the previous version of the software (Web X) had their points doubled to retain their Lounge access.
Under the Web X software, each post a member made garnered one point (even if it was a "Thank you," or "You're welcome").
There was a positive and negative voting system (which was sometimes abused).
Niel could tell you exactly how it worked, if he would deign to grace us with his presence here. (My memory may be somewhat suspect; it was a long time ago.)
