AT&T NumberSync not working on my iMac or MacBook Pro

I recently set up AT&T Wi-Fi calling and NumberSync and everything works great on my iPad. I can turn my phone off or turn Wi-Fi off, or put my iPhone on a different Wi-Fi network than my iPhone is on, and no problems, I can still make a call and receive a call on my iPad, just like I should be able to.

However, this is NOT the case on my iMac and MacBook Pro.

I am running the very latest version of El Capitan (released yesterday, March 22, 2016) and unless my iPhone and my computers are on the same Wi-Fi network, FaceTime just gives me the error message stating that my iPhone isn't available and that both my Mac and my iPhone must be on the same Wi-Fi network.

Shouldn't it work exactly the same way on my Mac as it does on my iPad?

(And, yes, I am logged into the same iCloud account on all of my devices.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yep, I've done that. It's all set up correctly, it just isn't working.

Oddly, it suddenly started working properly about two nights ago on both my iMac and my MacBook Pro. I was able to turn off Wi-Fi and even completely turn off my iPhone, and everything worked great.

Then, the next day, it just randomly stopped working again on my MacBook Pro. I have not tested my iMac. Nothing was changed at all before it started working or after it stopped working.

Also, on my MacBook Pro, even if I am on the same Wi-Fi network, FaceTime will not open open up to allow me to take incoming calls on the computer. It's completely bizarre.
