I received a text from "noreply.apple.str.information" asking me for my apple ID and phone number. Is this legit? It said there was an iBook download for over $100.00 to this appleID account that hasn't received downloads in the past. I clicked the link and was asked for my appleID and phone #. It has me concerned.

Thanks

iPhone 6

NO! It's spam.

Keep in mind, Apple will never contact you in anyway to ask for your Apple ID and phone number.

They are trying to get access to your Apple ID account.

In the future, if you receive an email or text from what appears to be from Apple asking for your Apple ID credentials, that is, "phishing" > Identifying fraudulent "phishing" email

Since you clicked that link clear your history and website data. Tap Settings > Safari then swipe down and tap: Clear History & Website Data

Then restart your iPhone.
