Q: All Media Moved to iCloud After Upgrade

Upgrade to iTunes v12.3.3.17 and on startup all media is pointing to the iCloud although my media is still local.  How do I get the database to point to my local media?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

    Limnos,

Thanks for your reply.  I have already done both of those and didn't correct the issue.  I have also spent 1.5 hours with Apple iTunes support and they finally gave up and gave the typical excuse that since my library is on a Synology NAS they cannot support it.  Forget the fact that it has been this way for 3+ years.

The strange thing is that I have iCloud Music Match turned on so that all of my devices can access my library.  I can still play music but it is from iCloud rather than my local copy which I prefer.  They couldn't assist me with changing the file location from iCould to my local NAS.

If your entire library (and that means the entire iTunes folder with all its folder and different files including non media ones) is on the NAS start iTunes while holding down the option key and select the iTunes Library.itl file on the NAS.

Using a NAS is living a risky life when using iTunes. Unpredictible (= unexplainable and unanswerable) things can happen. You are better off using a regular hard drive (yes, yes, I know they are nice for network access, but then pay the price).
