Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
If all the synced media like apps and music are already in the iTunes library of the new computer just backup to iTunes and restore from that backup.

Mar 24, 2016 1:35 AM in response to lllaassby sgtperry,I've done everything on the first link already none of that worked, i even wiped the ipod and restored from a previous backup i had saved in the icloud, im now backing up the ipod with no music on it to restore from that backup like your second link says to do, its been sitting trying to backup for about 30 mins now, hopefully this works, when it tried to sync before the backup it went thru the steps and showed completed but again no new music on my ipod
i know all the files are ok as i synced them to an old ipod i had lying around

Mar 24, 2016 4:12 AM in response to sgtperryby sgtperry,it just synced again on its own songs now show as greyed out will only play if ipod is connected to wifi, i did another google search and my ipod does not even have the settings to change to turn off to make it play songs offline

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later
Then reinstall Itunes
Next try DFU mode and then restore to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes

Mar 25, 2016 7:02 AM in response to lllaassby sgtperry,freshly installed itunes after removing everything again, now brought my ipod up in DFU mode and letting it do its thing while i sleep, hope to have a good update to this post later today, thanks again for the help so far

Mar 26, 2016 6:28 AM in response to lllaassby sgtperry,now showing only 4 steps, last one is waiting for changes to be applied, sometimes it starts to sync some music then it appears to disconnect from the ipod, i have tried two seperate cables and no luck as well as trying to sync over wifi, im thinking of taking it into an apple store to see what they can do or do you think this is something to do with my PC?

Mar 26, 2016 5:10 PM in response to lllaassby sgtperry,its now started to slowly sync music to the ipod it will do about 16 songs at a time then disconnect's and reconnects and syncs a few more songs

Mar 27, 2016 6:45 AM in response to lllaassby sgtperry,i've tried the solution you gave here (waiting for changes to be applied) to see if it would sync the whole thing in one go but still no go, im thinking i have two faulty ipod cables as it connects for a few songs then disconnects again, will buy a new cord tomorrow afternoon to see if that helps.
