Photos crashes after update to OS X 10.11.4

Since I did the 10.11.4 OS X El Capitan update yesterday, Photos crashes on launch. Any ideas?

Try to find out, if you are having a problem with your Photos Library or Photos installed incompletely.

As a test launch Photos while holding down the options key, until the library chooser panel appears, and the select to create a new Photos Library. If Photos is working well with a new, empty library, repair your Photos Library.See Repair your library - Photos Help

Are you shooting RAW? The new version of Photos in MAcOS X 10.11.4 has changed the RAW processing, see:

Thank you, Léonie. Apple Support found a simpler fix for me. I simply shut down and then started my computer in Safe Mode. That automatically rebuilt the corrupted files.

Starting Photos by using the option key did the trick for me. It created a new library and everything has worked fine since. Thanks for the advice!
