Q: Was the iMac G3 Model PowerMac 2,2 Discontinued in February 2001?

I downloaded this app called Mactracker, and I am trying to look up information about my iMac G3 with the model PowerMac 2,2. The app says this Mac was discontinued in Feb, 2001. But mine was built in Sep, 2001. Is the Mactracker inacurrate, or did something else happen? For anyone wondering, it has a 450 MHz PowerPC G3 processor.

Why do you believe that it was build in September 2001?

WHen I hold the power button, some screen comes up, saying it was built on 9/14/01.

Can you post a picture? I don't remember any build date appearing on the screen when those iMacs were booted. If there is, I'm guessing it when the SW was built.

I Can't do known ow, I can probably do it tomorrow 3/24/2016 at around 4-6PM CST. I'll set myself a reminder. Tha screen I am talking about, you hold the power button, then you will hear a long beep, then some white screen comes up with some info about the machine and a command promt.

Sounds like maybe some information from the Firmware. There was an update after the iMacs were shipped. That is probably why you are seeing that date.
