Gen 4 Apple TV remote not working

When we try to go to an app, it jumps around the screen. You swipe left and it goes down. You swipe up and it goes down. Does this within the main screen and within apps.


Also, when you tell Siri to open an app, like Netflix, she says we don't have it.


Very disappointed. Doubly disappointed b/c my local Genius bar is saying there are no appts avail.

It sounds like your Siri remote isn't working as expected with your Apple TV (4th Generation). The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great pointers for troubleshooting:

If your Siri Remote responds slowly or doesn't respond

If you need help while setting up your Apple TV, use other steps. Otherwise, use these steps and try again after each:

  1. Charge your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote for ten minutes (use a Lightning to USB cable and a USB wall charger).
  2. Pair your remote again: Set the remote within three inches of and pointing at your Apple TV. Then press and hold the Menu and Volume Up buttons for five seconds.
  3. Restart your Apple TV.
  4. If you still need help, contact Apple Support.
