iOS 9.3 Update broke SIRI&Dictation via bluetooth in the car (VW Golf 7)

In older version, you could connect your car via bluetooth to your car, stream music, make calls handsfree and use siri and dircation with your car-kit. The latter two are broken in the newest update. Pairing, streaming and calls work, but when i start siri there is no connection to the car established and whatever i speak into the car-mic does not get transmitted to the iPhone. Dictation is the same, no audio is being transmitted.

Can anybody confirm this?

I am using an iphone 5S and iphone 6, both 9.3, both dont work. The car is a 2016 VW Golf GTD with the factory-installed VW Discover Pro headunit.

Thanks, but those very basic instructions are not helping me. Of course i know how to properly pair a device and i have already tried those steps. This is a BUG introduced with 9.3 and it is reproducable...

Same here, but I can not make calls anymore, too 😠. Since iOS 9.3 only music streaming works...

I too have the same exact issue with my bluetooth car stereo. works fine for streaming music, but not for making phone calls. Everyone I have talked with at apple says they have no knowledge of an issue with the bluetooth in 9.3 or 9.3.1. However there seem to be a lot of us with this same exact issue. Wish Apple would investigate this and fix it.

I feel your pain too.

I have the same issue, although what I know so far is the following (given I've only had the car for a month):

9.3.2 - Siri wouldn't hear the request - or indeed any sounds from the microphone

9.3.3 - Problem was fixed

9.3.4 - Problem re-introduced - this is so frustrating!

I can tell you I have the same problem with my VW Passat with the Discover Pro and my iPhone 5S & iPhone 7 (both on iOS 10).

Something changed on the iOS side which is blocking Siri. I can stream music but that's it.

Before on my previous VW Touran with the RNS510 and my iPhone 5S (iOS 8 something at that time and then 9) it was working fine.

When you're driving you can ask Siri to do things like "texting your wife saying you are on your way" or "putting a reminder for when you will be back home" and it was pretty convenient!

Please bring this feature back!
As a workaround I disconnect the phone from the car (no bluetooth).

The problem still persists up to the most recent version of iOS 10.2 and needs to be fixed...
