Q: After updating to iOS 9.3 push mail not working on any account

I have an iPhone 6S Plus.  I updated to iOS 9.3 and now none of my email (gmail, work email, outlook.com) push is working.  I have to periodically go in and and click on mail and let it retrieve it (like if it was on battery saver mode).

I have restarted the phone, I have uninstalled and reinstalled some of the mail accounts.  No luck.

Anyone else out there have this issue?  Any fixes that do not include a restore?

Anytime Apple says "restore your device" or "exchange your device" that is the most B.S. response ever and is the last option, not the first.

Also, Apple, if you read this, I would appreciate a battery that works above 40 degrees.  Samsung works well below freezing but the iPhone shuts off and asks to get plugged in because it is too cold below 40 degrees.  Your response to my issue was "our batteries are rated to work only above 32 degrees".  Engineering fail.

Well, so much for success.  My email has pushed perfectly since the day before yesterday.  Now this morning it isn't working again!  I did finally close the email app.  Maybe that is what caused it.  And so much for the non-spinning wheel theory, too.  The wheel is not spinning, and it still doesn't work.  When Apple Genius does a diagnostic on my iPad Pro, they tell me the email app has crashed.  Now I need to make still ANOTHER Genius appointment, and I dread it.  This will be my fourth trip.  What's the point?

    Reference this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7229812

We have multiple users experiencing ActiveSync push "issues". The iPhone simply stops monitoring the Exchange email account folders (Inbox, Sent Items, etc...) and new emails are not pushed to the phone.

Apple support explained to me that the workaround is to have users manually check for new messages by unlocking the phone, opening the mail app, and pulling down to refresh the Inbox. This is obviously not a viable solution.

There has been no commitment (from Apple) to release a long-term fix for this issue. We are struggling with next steps at this point. Unless Apple fixes this issue we may need to migrate iPhone users to Android.

*Note: just installed 9.3.2 on a few test phones to see if the issue is resolved. Nothing in the release notes but fingers have been sufficiently crossed...

I have 9.3.2, and as of last weekend, I stopped receiving the pushed emails.  Now, I pretty much have to go in and fetch them all.  Not sure what else to try.

Good luck.  For myself, I have given up.  Besides my email not always pushing, now my weather alert badges don't go away—I have to remove them manually.  What a mess.

Anyone find a fix for this problem? I still have it most of the time on my iPad Pro and occasionally on my iPhone 6.

Below solution that works for me.

make it Off and On "Push".

That works for me. Try it out if it is not solved.
