I have a simple slide show and would like to edit the pictures from within. I found out you should be able to, Just double click on the photo in the thumbnail tray at the bottom to enter the Edit mode, however my computer, app, something, won't allow it. When I double click the image, nothing happens, no edit option. Has anyone had an issue like this in Photos?

It is not yet possible to edit photos directly from a slideshow project. You have to select the photo in a Moment or album and go from there to the "Edit" mode.

With Photos 1.5 from the OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 Combo Update photos can be edited from inside the slideshow mode by double clicking on the photo in the thumbnail tray at the bottom.
l tried that already, OT, but double clickng does not open the editor window for me. ls there a difference between the App Store version and downloaDs version?
There might be. Wouldn't hurt to install it and see. If there's a combo updater available from the Downloads site I usually use it over going to the App Store. It's usually quicker and easier.

I've been concerned about downloading El Capitan because I use the Adobe Creative Suite daily and was told by the sales person at Apple (when I bought my Mac last summer) to be cautious and wait until any problems are ironed out between the two. I'm assuming it would (should) be all good. Do you have any insight/advice on that?

I don't use ACS, only PS C3, so can't comment. I haven't heard anything about problems between the two that I remember.
