hide unwanted updates in app store

I've continually got 5 updates nagging me in the App Store - RAW updates for cameras I will never own and the latest iMovie and iWork offerings that I don't want.

There must surely be a simple way to hide these unwanted updates and to turn off the constant notifications and nags about these updates…

I thought I was crazy, clicking EVERYwhere to get the "hide update" to show (for a Mac OS 10.12.5 Public Beta I no longer wanted to try).

Discovered something weird: I finally accidentally got the Hide Update ctrl-click to appear, and it depends on WHERE in the white space you click. In the expanded ("show more") view, if you click on the text, no submenu. If you click on the white space next to the update title, no submenu. Click on the icon, the update title, no submenu. Click on the whitespace BETWEEN the title and the first text header/paragraph, no submenu. But: Click on the whitespace to the right of the first text (which in this case says "Installation Instructions"), I get the "Hide Update" submenu! Also works to the right of any text (under the "update" button), or whitespace within the description text (but not the text itself).

Someone at Apple needs to get their z-order right for clickable hotspots & text fields.

I have a similar problem. As an Admin in a school where we have quite a few Macs I have logged the school Apple ID in on all the computers to have secure FindMyMac on all computers both portable and desktop.

One user on a potrable logged in on her account and logged in her Apple ID and purchased an app that I now get nagged about on all computers. It also requires the users Apple ID and password. I managed to hide it from the Purchased tab but it stays in the Updates tab. This app is not installed on any other computer. HELP.

If you didn't purchase that app yourself and it was purchased with a different Apple ID but you still keep receiving notifications about it, the only possible explanation is that you share a "family" in the App Store, that is, one of you is the "head" of the family and manages payment, but all of you are registered so as to be able to share purchases from other members.

If the updates notification bothers you, you should be able to skip it and hide it by login into your Apple account at the App Store, going to the "Updates" tab, and right-clicking on it (or ctrl + click) to choose "Hide this update".

I have a similar problem. Long time ago, I refused a program and was reimbursed by Apple. Since then, this application reluctantly asks for an update which is impossible since I do not own it.

The application is in the "Updates" list but has no "Hide update" menu.

What shall I do to get ride of that item in the update list ?

I've just signed-in to the App Store and selected the Purchased tab. From there I can see that I have 3 iWork apps and iMovie awaiting update. There is nothing showing about the RAW Camera update - logically, as I've never purchased this.

I hover over iMovie and can select Hide Update…

I've done this and the iMovie update has gone from the Purchased tab, but is still visible on the Updates tab. Closing and re-opening the App Store doesn't change this.

So I've still got these 5 apps nagging me for update and I've lost the iMovie entry in the Purchased tab. How do I make this visible again? The option Show All on the App Store menu tab is greyed-out.
