iTunesMiniPlayer.dll failed to register. HRESULT-2147023782.

With the installation of iTunes I get the following message

Module C:\Pogram Files\iTunesMiniPlayer.dll failed to register. HRESULT-2147023782.

This happens when i reinstall and install newly after I removed all apple software with Windows 10

when I say ignore to this message te installation completed but when i start iTunes I gt the message that a module is missing and I have to reinstall iTunes,

Until a month ago the updates for iTunes where never a problem.

My problem is now that I am not able to backup and restore my iPhone and my iPad any more.

How can I solve this problem?

the file iTunesMiniPlayer.dll is not in the directory C:\Program Files\

but in C:\Program Files\iTunes

Could that be the problem?

If that is the case there is a failure in the installation script from iTunes.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. When reinstalling right-click the downloaded setup file and use Run as administrator.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, or want to revert to an older version if the current one won't work properly for you at the moment.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Same problem here.

I removed all traces I could find from older versions including Bonjour, Apple Application Support etc. and even iCloud. Made sure that Program Files and Program data were clean too.

Installed (Dutch version) while virusscanner was stopped and on a freshly restarted Windows 10 system.

I then tried to install a version downloaded from an Enlish site but ran into the same problem.

I just found the previous version on a download site (Filehippo).

It installed flawlessly 🙂.

Hi tt2,

Thank you for your suggestions.

I once again deinstalled and reinstalled iTunes 12.3.3.17 carefully following your instructions but it ended with the same error.

I then installed and run iTunes 12.3.2.35 on my Windows 10 pc without problems. I now just have to ignore the update warning.

As apparently not everybody have this problem it must be something in the update versus the specific setup of Windows in my system and some other folks'.

Any clou?

I see the same problem being discussed since long time in various forums but I didn't find the right answer yet.

Hope a next version will install without this problem or better, we can solve the problem in this version 😀.

Thanks

Bob.

Thank you Chris. I'm glad you found a workaround that works for you.

However I don't get to the point where one can select a language. It seems to me that the setup-file is always the same and somewhere in the process of installing Apple decides for you what language to use but maybe I overlooked something.

Anyway, I will for the time being run an old version of iTunes and wait for a next version where the problem is hopefully solved. I don't think I need the new features of 12.3.3 version so I'm fine for now. I also killed the Apple update warning so I'm not getting the annoying update alerts any longer.

Regards

Bob.
