That projector

has the following inputs:

VGA (sub d)

HDMI and

S vide and composite.

I would get a mini displayport (plugs into Thunderbolt port) to HDMI adopter and use the HDMI projector input

You can also get a mini displayport>VGA adopter

that projector is treated as an additional display with either VGA or HDMI inputs. They include a VGA cable in the box.

For modern MacBook Pro with thunderbolt port, a Mini DisplayPort (ThunderBolt subset) to VGA is the most straightforward adapter to use with the included cable.

You could also use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and cable. This would provide an all-digital path that would not have to rely on an Analog-to-Digital converter in the display.
