How do you add all data from iPad2 to iPad mini III
I want to add all the data from an iPad2 to a iPad Mini without deleting any data on the iPad Mini so I can then bring the iPad 2 to factory defaults and give to my Grandson?
iPad 2, iOS 7.0.4

Will the "restore" function from the iPad2 backup over-write the data that exists on the iPad Mini which has been used for some time? I want to clarify that step as the directions are a bit vague as I read them and I do want to "merge" the iPad2 data with the iPad Mini data on the iPad Mini.
Thanks for your response and links.

Yes, restoring a backup replaces all data on the device with what's in the backup.
Thanks for your response but this solution will not "merge" the data into the iPad Mini content. I'll have to keep looking.
Bill
There is no way to merge data on any iOS device.
There is no way to merge. If you want to preserve whatever is in the Mini, then you'll have to manually extract it from it if possible. Not everything may be extractable.
Restoring the Backup will replace all data with whatever is in the Backup.
If you tell us what type of data you wish to keep form the Mini we may be able to provide some methods for doing so.
Thanks Phil, I'll get back to you. I'm trying to implement my wife's project.
