FCP X Bouncing on dock but never starting

Hi

FCP X won't load. Just bounces on the dock and never starts. I end up having to force quit it though no windows open up.

I've trashed preferences, used time machine to go back to when it was working, switched user accounts, made new user accounts, used fcp cleaner tools to wipe everything FCP related then downloaded from App store, reinstalled OS X, formatted my macbook then used Internet Recovery to reinstall Mountain Lion then upgraded to El Capitan. No change. FCP X just bounces on the dock and won't open any windows. Option + Clicking and Option + Cmd + Clicking does nothing either. Bounces on dock, doesn't load, no windows and no dot underneath icon.

I have a MacBook Pro Retina 15inch, Early 2013. 16gb ram etc.

Other issues that may affect, but haven't when using FCP X previously : I also have trouble with the display in that it doesn't work anymore so I run it through the thunderbolt - hdmi to a LCD tv screen.The MacBooks I/O board failed years ago. Sometime it hangs when asleep so I have to force reset it. I usually have to reset NVRAM / Pram / SMC and all that a lot of the time. Especially to start it up. Though since the format it's been running much better. Macbooks basically on it's last legs I'm just waiting for the new ones to come out before buying.

It has to be a hardware fault at this stage right?

Hi Russ,

This is what it says in Terminal when I run that executable

/Applications/Final\ Cut\ Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Final\ Cut\ Pro ; exit;

Dans-MacBook-Pro:~ dans$ /Applications/Final\ Cut\ Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Final\ Cut\ Pro ; exit;

AHT had this alert:

4HDD/11/40000000:SATA(0,0)

which apparently is a false error according to Mac notebooks: Apple Hardware Test may report "HDD" alert - Apple Support
