Mar 24, 2016 11:40 AM in response to Country Artistby Jonathan UK,Hi - try these steps:
- On your iPhone in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Wrist Detection - check that this is turned on.
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - turn Fitness Tracking off (or turn it on, if it is currently turned off).
- Restart both devices by turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first:
- To turn your iPhone off: press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears; drag it to turn off. To restart, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button.
- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off. To turn it back on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
- If you turned Fitness Tracking off in step 2, now return to the setting and re-enable it.

Mar 24, 2016 11:48 AM in response to Jonathan UKby Country Artist,Thanks, Jonathan. I saw this posting before and did it before I un-paired and re-paired the watch. No dice in this case but thanks for replying.

Mar 24, 2016 12:07 PM in response to Country Artistby Jonathan UK,As you may already be aware, the hourly Stand goal is achieved when you stand up and move around for at least one minute during any given hour (and repeating this within each of 12 separate hours throughout the day will achieve your daily Stand goal).
The following steps may help with registering Stand activity:
- Apple Watch uses an accelerometer to identify movement, so a minute's walk around with your arms swinging naturally should help to register this.
- Check that your personal information is accurate:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Health > check and, if necessary, edit your birthdate, gender, height and weight.
- Calibrating Apple Watch can help to improve the accuracy of various estimations made by both the Activity app and the Workout app:
- To calibrate your watch, follow the instructions here:
- It may help to reset your calibration data and start afresh:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Privacy > Motion & Fitness > tap on Reset Calibration Data.

Mar 24, 2016 2:26 PM in response to Jonathan UKby Country Artist,Thanks again. Tried that as well. Didn't work. I'm not receiving reminders either. I wonder if something is wrong with the accelerometer

Mar 24, 2016 2:41 PM in response to Country Artistby Jonathan UK,Next try closing all open apps on your iPhone and then force restarting both devices (iPhone first):
- On your iPhone: double-click the Home button, then swipe up on each app preview to close each app.
- iPhone: press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for around 10 seconds, until you see the logo.
- Watch: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the logo.
If the issue persists, then I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch checked under warranty:

Mar 25, 2016 6:01 AM in response to Jonathan UKby Country Artist,I truly appreciate all the help you have given me. None of the suggestions have worked so it's off to the Genius Bar for me. Fortunately it's not toooooo far away
Thanks for all of your help.

Mar 25, 2016 6:08 AM in response to Country Artistby Jonathan UK,You're most welcome - but I am sorry to hear that the issue persists.
One final point to check: if you have both Wrist Detection and Passcode enabled, ensure that you unlock your watch after placing it on your wrist.
